Customer Service at its Finest
With the firearms community attracting more new shooters each year, match schedules growing past one a month, and new products coming out every quarter, it’s hard for someone to decide which products they should purchase, what actually works as advertised, and most importantly…who will take care of them? This passion is not inexpensive with many enthusiasts spending thousands of dollars annually, and having a company that supports them is top of the list with Hornady showing they are just that.
Over a year ago, a Hornady single stage lock-n-load press was purchased for a first time reloader. During this time, there was a large variance between the shoulder bump of each case resized. This was chalked up to newbie mistakes and resizing continued. Fast forward 1-year and the problem persisted regardless of die brand, lubricant used, brass age or experience level of the person resizing. This prompted some inspection, and low and behold, a crack in the bushing was found. A quick search later showed this was a known issue and to contact Hornady customer service. Now, being the press was purchased over a year ago with no receipts or boxes of any kind to help proof of purchase, it was assumed the bushing would be “out of pocket” to replace. No problem, let’s get one ordered to start the 2020 season off with properly sized cases.
At 10:38 PM, an email was sent to Hornady explaining the issue, asking how to remove the bushing and if one could be ordered for replacement. This is where Hornady separated themselves from other company’s and showed they support our community and stand by their products. At 1:37 PM the following day response was sent saying, “Thank you for your email, the bushing will thread out of the head of your press and we’ve put an order in for you to receive a new replacement”, complete with a tracking number. I can tell you he was shocked. No questions asked, no proof of purchase, no please send pictures…just a simple acknowledgment and your part is on the way.
There are lots of companies to choose from, so if you’re in the market and can’t decide which company will take care of you…put Hornady at the top of your list.
