Dave Holmes – Video Producer and LRT Staff

Dave grew up in California until he was about 12 years old. Introduced to a pellet rifle at a young age by his dad, his love for firearms began at a young age.

Eventually his family moved him to central Utah where he learned about video editing and really started enjoying it as a hobby. After he graduated high school and starting to work more, his love for firearms grew even more as he could afford them on his own. He started growing his collection and going shooting more and more.

Dave started to become interested in hunting, and in 2013 he started to participate in the muzzleloader hunt with his dad. A fairly casual hunter, he got his first buck deer with a Traditions Hawkins muzzleloader using a .50 lead ball in 2018. The buck wasn’t much of a record breaker, but a decent 3×3 pictured above that he was really happy with. Dave wants to become less casual in hunting and become a better and more active hunter and eventually work his way up to elk and bear hunts.

In 2015, Dave started participating in his local 22lr Marksmen Challenge match. He really enjoyed learning to shoot under time and pressure.

In 2016, Dave decided to start doing video reviews on YouTube and combined his hobbies of video editing and firearms. He enjoys doing video reviews on guns and gear and accessories in his spare time.

Dave joined Long Range Tactics in September of 2018 where he has been a contributor of product reviews and video editing.
